The year there almost wasn't a visit from the Easter Bunny

So the story goes.  The night before easter when there should have been laughter and sweet smells.  There was unkind words being spoken.  And a refusal to help.  And we all went to bed but Mom...  And when we awoke ~ what a shock Easter baskets for Grandparents, Mom and Dad... and where our baskets should have been was a note.

Our Mom had been up cleaning, baking, decorating all night.  The Easter Bunny stopped by at 3:00 am and thought the house to messy to add anything to it.  Since their Mom pleaded for Peter to give them one more chance, he said once the chores were done she could give out baskets and hide the Eggs.  Dan and Eddie Ray began working real hard, then Rick chimed in, and look what appeared...

Oh how perfect!!

Max wanted a basket for herself
Oh and this is the dog who ate 1/2 my lemon Chick cake.

We loved our candy and fishing poles.  Now for the Egg Hunt and of course Alec joined us.

Lil Dan figured he needed more than his easter basket.  My 4 lil bucket heads!!

Rick Wins for the 1st time with 31eggs

The Dan 28 eggs

Eddie Ray 20 eggs

Alec 17 eggs However does anyone ever really lose?  With all that chocolate.

Oops momma missed part of conference.  Last night was certainly starting to catch up.

The 2nd Egg hunt at Kelly's~ wow money.  You would have thought the boys had struck gold.

Joey is excited too...is an egg like a ball?  I'm in!!

Kelly helped Ray man Count his treasure up.

Boys made fresh Lemonade for dinner Yummy!!

Mom so glad her summer challenge has not started.
Then the Hayes stopped by for a while Yeah!! We have surely missed our cousins.

Cassie is so beautiful!  Holding Darcy.  It was their cat first.

Eric, Ben holding Patches.

She keeps stepping on me.  Now she licked me!!  Oh my!!  But I like her.

The game is on!!

Max can't see but hears the crowd and wants to join.
Anna lived with the Hayes family for 9 years, she was so excited she wanted to go home with them!!  I'm like hey we let you live in the house, remember?

GRRR!

Dessert with the Boesen clan!  Since Mom couldn't decide what cake to make and Grandma made pie we decided we should share.  Not to mention all family just loves their family.

Lamb strawberry cake Lemon Chick Cake.  (According to Anna was delicious!)  Bunny was a spice cake with cream cheese frosting.  And Grandma made Chocolate pie.  Yum!!

Dan goofing and grazing!!  A bite of this and a bite of that!

Tuckered out!  Although people wore them out with the constant excitement.

Happy Easter Mom from Dad and all of us!!!  What an egg~stra special Day!!!!
It was a crazy day with Rick kicking a ball through our window and smashing it.  And I carrying the Ham platter to the kitchen the big knife fell off and I being an idiot tried to catch it.  They slice pretty good with the inertia of falling.  But when all is said and done it was a great day.  I loved hearing the prophet speak.  And the time we had with the Hayes family (I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Deanne)   was so fun filled.  We were so sad when they had to go!!  And as always and day with Mom and Dad and the Boesens is always awesome.  The boys learned a valuable lesson and came out better for it.  And Mom still was able to enjoy seeing them do all the Easter Traditions.  And we were able to further learn on the resurrection of Christ and what that means to each of us.
