I believe it a shame a couple weeks ago a neighbor on Cottonwood Lane in Cedar Falls chose to call in a 77 year old man for chopping ice in front of his home.  Funny when he fell on the ice in front of his mailbox, no one came to his aid.  But when he was clearing a path at 7:30 at night he gets called in for disturbing the peace.  Really I was sitting in his home at the time I could barely hear it.  It's funny how many neighbors know of my parents ailments, yet no one steps forward to help them during this long winter. I realize that's my job as their child.  However my Dad still enjoys doing things for himself.  And sometimes I have to sit back and observe, jump in if he pushes himself to far.  The Cedar Falls Police Department handled the call with respect for my Dad which I appreciate.  It's just sad that people chose to waste an officer's time in this manner.  According to one neighbor it bothered the whole neighborhood.  What a way to reciprocate for all the help my Dad did for neighbors over the years at no cost to them.  I have an Elderly neighbor and I would never treat her in this manner, in fact I look for ways to help her.  Again Shame on you.

I wrote this due to the fact a couple Wednesdays ago Ardeth chose to call in Dad for chipping ice at 7:30 at night. And told him the next day if people are making money they can be noisy it doesn't bother her.  But apparently chipping ice does.   So I hope she has no rotting wood in her house, as it would seem that maybe an unbearable noise.  I know she to is elderly, however she would best be served taking anal behavior out on someone else.  He again was not noisy, he just had a manual ice chipper.  And I had to keep checking on him because he was being so quiet.
