The Engine Pull

Ricky worked so hard cleaning the engine. This was definately Ricky's favorite part.

Eddie Ray worked so hard acking up the car. It was hysterically with each pump his whole body would come off the ground. All the boys had a hand in getting the engine out.

14. Did you go to homecoming, and with who? I went to one with a group of girls.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No! It's was fun but hard enough back then.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? I remember thinking..."I kept thinking I'm finally done. Now I can do whatever I want! Freedom at last.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? To North Cedar to go drinking with my buddies.

20. Who was your prom date? My junior we went as a group and I left with Joe Kunkel.Senior Year I went with Jimmy Nuebauer and left with Clayton.
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I already missed mine. I went to my twentith found out I really hadn't missed much at my tenth.
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Focus more on your studies and make high school less of a game of cat and mouse.

Beloved Blackie

Our beloved Blackie is having Kidney issues. Our hearts are breaking as that is what took our Simba on January 15, 2007. Simba was 2 weeks of watching him starve and being to lethargic to eat or move. We are hoping we can turn this around with him due to the fact we noticed it earlier. So he got his antibiotic shots, and now is on prescription food. He has lost 15lbs since April. Blackie will be 13 this March. For those non animal lovers this may not seem like a big deal, but to a family who considers their pets a member of the family it's huge. So keep him in your prayers.

Changes

Well first I'd like to say Lil Dan went out for Cross Country. His best time 8 minutes 15 Seconds. He came in 8th place in a Metro Meet. Also Dan is out for Flag football again, now he's a Panther. Once again does an outstanding job of getting in there. Lat night 3 touchdowns and numerous flags.
Now the Big Change I have a job. I work for Waterloo School Systems, I am currently subbing as a Hall Monitor at West High. Those who knew Me in High School will find this highly ironic. Life has a tendency to come full Circle.

My quirkiness

The idea I believe is to list 6 quirks of mine. Sorry it took so long to get around to this.
1. I can not drive a car in any season without my window down. (particularly makes my husband crazy. Grandparents are not thrilled either)
2 & 3 They go together. I must sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door. And I must always face the door at night. I'm pretty sure that constitutes two)
4. Every thing in my house must have balance. Check out my walls some time. Another thing that drives my husband crazy.
5. I can sense if a door is unlocked at bedtime.
6. I can not stand complete silence.

1st Day of School

Aren't my boys just handsome? Ricky is a freshman in high school this year. (Notice Anna had to get in on the photo)
Dan is a 6th grader in Middle School. Going out for cross country and football.
Eddie Ray is a 1 st grader in Elementary.

We Finished The Book of Mormon

We started reading January 27,2008. We reflected on what parts were important to us.
Rick really enjoyed the story of Samuel on the wall. His heroes were Moroni and Nephi.
Dan's favorite story and Hero was Enos. I have to agree, I to love the story of Enos, the shortest book had the biggest impact on my life. It is just so powerful and concise. Eddie Ray's was when they talked about Christ and God. But were very excited to be starting the Doctrine and Covenants tommorow.

Last Day of Fun Before School Starts

Rick Dan Danny & Eddie Ray hit the Frisbie Golf Course for 9 holes.

Then off to the petting zoo. They still love those Chickens & Goats.

Aunt Dianne Visits the boys

The boys enjoyed a short visit with Aunt Dianne Monday Night. Eddie Ray is always so bashful around people he has not seen in a while.
Rick saved his money for 2 years and finally got his electric guitar. He has been so excited.

It was a great time with great food. We spent the entire night up just talking, laughing, crying, & remembering. Could not have asked for a better time. Just sorry it had to end so quickly.

Happy Birthday Rick and Dan

The cousins love the video games at Godfather's. They all enjoyed good Pizza and lots of games.

After our very busy day at Godfather's and "the Falls" where they swam for four hours. Adam was exhausted. He looks so peaceful. I'm sad to see the 2 weeks come to an end. It has been so much fun. But I leave in a little while to take them all back.

Sundae Lesson

WE LEARNED TONITE THE SAME IS TRUE IN OUR LIVES AS IN OUR SUNDAES. ONLY ADD THE THINGS THAT GO TOGETHER. THINK CAREFULLY OR YOU'LL BE DISAPPOINTED IN THE END RESULT.
WE ALWAYS NEED TO THINK AS WE ADD PEOPLE AND EXPERIENCES TO OUR LIVES. IS THE END RESULT SOMETHING WE CAN LIVE WITH.

The Petting Zoo

Oh how they all loved the petting zoo. 2 hours was not near enough. The favorite spot had to be the chickens. I myself am more partial to the goats. But they all loved chasing and catching chickens. The pig was hit til the lady said it had a tendency to bite ankles. All 8 cleared out pretty quickly.


I'm so sad our time is almost through. We have had such a blast. These kids are so good together.

The aftermath

As Rick and Adam slept Dan, Mari, Eddie Ray went to work and decorated them up. You wouldn't believe how long it took to get it off.
They were all very creative in building their town.
The giant pillow fight. The also played laminite laminite nephite aka duck duck goose. And scripture charades ~ they were hillarious.

The Night of the Jeridites

We started the night with roasting hot dogs over the campfire. We were suppose to have scriptures around our fire but the rains came in. So in we went to read about the Jaredites and their living in tents. Then living in the barges and the 16 stones. I was impressed with the discussions brought up by Dan, Mari, Andrew, and Ben.
Then the rains went away, and the smores came out. Then onto a late night swim, and singing primary songs around the campfire. Well we were all suppose to camp out like the Jaredites. But one tent got ruined so it was only going to be the 6 oldest kids. And they were cool with that. Unfortunately they have me for an aunt and mom. I sat on the porch then moved next to the tent by midnight I was nerved up. And broke it to them I would never sleep with them in the yard alone. I know they were disappointed, but they all had a great attitude. And understood I just wanted them safe. I hate that the world we live in makes camping in your own yard feel unsafe. Oh well they got 2 hours of the Jaredite experience. Eddie Ray will be shocked when he wakes up in the house.

Yard Work

Adam Drew and John really got into yardwork. Pretend mowing and picking up apples.

Adam refuses to wear much for clothes, I dress him, he undresses in the yard. So this week we're just calling him my little nephite.

summer Fun

As the summer winds down the kids are enjoying more waterplay. Dan & Mari are quickly becoming best buds.

Adam and John keep me highly amused they are so funny. And they are so good. We are having a blast.
